Biographical data on Isaac and Patrick Taylor, 1861-[1881].

Letters written by Isaac Taylor, Camp Stone, Maryland, to his sister Alvina (October 20, 1861), giving a brief description of an expedition into Maryland, and from Patrick Taylor, Brandy Station, Virginia to sisters Viva and Mary (January 22, 1864), commenting on family and friends. Both Taylors served in the First Minnesota Infantry Regiment, Company E; Isaac was killed at Gettysburg on July 2, 1863. Both Taylors also taught in the Belle Prairie, Morrison County, Minnesota area shortly before the war.
